Hospitality in Genoa, Italy
From May 21-June 19, 2017, Dionne participated in the study abroad program, Hospitality in Genoa, Italy. Florida International University described the program as a way “to foster an appreciation for local place and culture, to learn different ways of living and ideas of comfort, service and hospitality, and to develop a critical perspective on globalization and mass tourism”.
These pictures document Dionne's journey through the wonders of Italy, marking her second time out the country. A group consisting of 13 students and 2 FIU faculty advisers traveled through the rich and exquisite beauty of a historic country that holds some of the worlds most valued treasures. The trip consisted of visits to some of the most renowned and recognizable sites in the world as well as traditional community activities, varying throughout regions. From the Roman Ruins to the Mediterranean Sea, the three weeks consisted of demanding travel and heavy physical activity. However, the group’s cultivation for the love of Italy and it’s culture is captured in the gallery of pictures below for all who are curious to see.
